The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) was up 524.02 (0.99%) points today, reaching 53,009.05, while Dow Futures (YM=F) was up 535.00 (1.02%) points. The primary narrative driving the market was the ISM Manufacturing PMI report, which exceeded economist expectations and signaled a resurgence in domestic production. This positive data provided a substantial boost to industrial sentiment, overshadowing lingering concerns regarding global trade stability and interest rate trajectories.

Leading the gainers, 3M (MMM) was up 3.70% at $148.62 as the company benefited from a favorable legal settlement outlook. Tech giant Nvidia (NVDA) followed, up 1.77% at $225.01, as the market continues to price in massive hardware demand. Other strong performers included Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), up 1.61% at $227.63, and Cisco Systems (CSCO), up 1.33% at $100.48. UnitedHealth Group (UNH) also rose 1.00% to $399.64, while Goldman Sachs (GS) edged higher by 0.58% to $948.64.

Conversely, the index was weighed down by IBM (IBM), which was down 2.42% at $213.40 following a cautious guidance update. The retail and housing sectors struggled; Home Depot (HD) was down 2.14% at $303.85, and Salesforce (CRM) was down 1.64% at $168.45. Additional pressure came from Sherwin-Williams (SHW), down 1.36%, and Caterpillar (CAT), which was down 1.22%. Financials were mixed as American Express (AXP) was down 1.27% and JPMorgan Chase (JPM) was down 1.12%.
