Its revenue was up 2 percent at $1.83 billion. The company saw a drop in its revenue for the Fisher-Price division. The division reported 5 percent decrease in the revenue. The consensus estimate stood at 76 cents in earnings per share. The projection for quarterly revenue was pegged at $1.94 billion.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mattel Inc. reported its profit for the quarter at $283.3 million.<\/li>\n<li>Mattel Inc. had recorded $229.8 million in profit for the third quarter last year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bob Eckert, Chief Executive Officer of the company, said, \u201cRetailers remain guarded with inventory and several are betting on a late holiday season this year. Yes, there will be a Christmas. That said, I suspect it will play out later than we&#8217;re accustomed to.\u201d The company also said that it is too early to predict the performance for the holiday season.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s sales had also been affected by unfavorable foreign currency exchange rate.
