(BP) to Sell Interest in Gulf of Mexico Oil Fields"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BP plc (ADR)<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=bp\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"> (NYSE: BP)<\/a><\/strong> is looking to sell some of its assets to pay for the damages it had to incur due to massive oil spill.\u00a0 The company has decided to sell its Gulf of Mexico fields to cover for the expenditure.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BP plc. is likely to receive $650 million for its stake in four of its oil wells.<\/li>\n<li>BP plc. has entered into a contract with Japan\u2019s Marubeni Corp.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>BP plc. has already pledged to sell up to $30 billion worth of its assets. These assets would mainly belong to non-core assets category. The company has already agreed to sell its oil and gas fields in Venezuela and Vietnam. The sales would be made to the company\u2019s joint venture TNK-BP. The deal is likely to worth $1.8 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Under the new deal, Maurbeni Corp., which is Japan\u2019s fifth largest trading house, will acquired BP\u2019s stake in the Nansen and Zia fields, Magnolia and Merganser.
