At last check, Basic Materials stocks were trading 0.98% lower. Technology stocks have also fallen sharply in early trading today. At last check, Technology stocks were trading 0.73% lower. Utilities have been the best performers in early trading. At last check, Utilities were trading 1.05% higher. Financials are also climbing for a second straight day. At last check, Financials were trading 0.55% higher.<\/p>\n<p>Among the major gainers and losers in early trading today are Abbott Laboratories (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=abt\">NYSE: ABT<\/a>), which is currently trading 3.76% higher at $54.41, Comerica Incorporated (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=cma\">NYSE: CMA<\/a>), which is currently trading 8.47% lower at $23.66, Intel Corporation (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=intc\">NASDAQ: INTC<\/a>), which is currently trading 4.11% higher at $24.36, BlackRock Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=blk\">NYSE: BLK<\/a>), which is currently trading 2.99% lower at $151.63, The Travelers Companies Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=trv\">NYSE: TRV<\/a>), which is currently trading 4.84% higher at $53.95, Apple Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nasdaq\/today.aspx\">NASDAQ<\/a>: AAPL), which is currently trading 4.51% lower at $403.21, and Apollo Group Inc. (NASDAQ: APOL), which is currently trading 9.16% higher at $47.30.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, a report released by the Labor Department showed consumer prices in the U.S. rose in the month of September. The figures released by the Labor Department showed that consumer prices rose 0.3% in September, in-line with estimates.
