Excluding one-time items, the company reported third-quarter profit if $0.08 per share, beating analysts\u2019 estimate of a profit of $0.04 per share. For the same period in 2009, the company reported a loss of $0.03 per share. The company\u2019s net income for the third quarter of 2010 was $10 million, or $0.02 per share, compared with a net loss of $35 million, or $0.08 per share reported in the third quarter of 2009. Shares of Macy\u2019s Inc. are currently down 1.59% to $24.82, after opening at $25.33.<\/p>\n
