However, all three major indexes registered gains for the week.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-19361\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>On Friday, the <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/dowjones\/today.aspx\">Dow Jones<\/a> settled 0.76% higher at 12,720.48, the <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/sp500\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"snp500 today\">S&amp;P 500<\/a> settled 0.07% higher at 1,315.38, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nasdaq\/today.aspx\">Nasdaq<\/a> settled 0.06% lower at 2,786.70.<\/p>\n<p><!--mfunc adshow_display_ad_file_v2(array('ad_random_1.txt'), array(100), array('align' => 'float right', 'clear' => '', 'margin_top' => '', 'margin_bottom' => '', 'padding_top' => '', 'padding_bottom' => ''), array(), array()) --><\/p>\n<div style=\"float:right;margin-left:5px;\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-1408583772585547\";\n\/* SMW - in News 300 *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"5684630733\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p><!--\/mfunc--><\/p>\n<p>For the week, the <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/dowjones\/today.aspx\">Dow Jones<\/a> rose 2.40%, the S&amp;P 500 rose 2.04%, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nasdaq\/today.aspx\">Nasdaq<\/a> rose 2.80%.<\/p>\n<p>Financials were the best performers in the S&amp;P 500 on Friday, ending the day 1.48% higher. Consumer Cyclical stocks also rose sharply on Friday, ending the day 0.72% higher. Technology stocks also rallied on Friday, ending the day 0.71% higher. Utilities rose 0.33%. Consumer Non-Cyclical stocks were the worst performers on Friday, ending the day 0.84% lower.<\/p>\n<p>Among the major gainers and losers in Friday\u2019s trading session were Microsoft Corporation (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=MSFT\">NASDAQ: MSFT<\/a>), which ended the day 5.65% higher at $29.71, Google Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=GOOG\">NASDAQ: GOOG<\/a>), which ended the day 8.38% lower at $585.99, Bank of America Corporation (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=BAC\">NYSE: BAC<\/a>), which ended the day 1.58% higher at $7.07, Parker-Hannifin Corporation (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=PH\">NYSE: PH<\/a>), which ended the day 4.06% lower at $81.52, The Talbots Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=TLB\">NYSE: TLB<\/a>), which ended the day 18.59% higher at $3.19, TreeHouse Foods Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nyse\/today.aspx\">NYSE<\/a>: THS), which ended the day 9.70% lower at $56.76, and Schlumberger Limited (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nyse\/today.aspx\">NYSE<\/a>: SLB), which ended the day 1.29% higher at $73.80.<\/p>\n<p>European markets ended mostly lower on Friday; however, the losses were marginal. The FTSE 100 Index in London ended the day 0.22% lower at 5,728.55, and the CAC 40 Index in Paris ended the day 3,321.50.
