(<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=MCRS\">Nasdaq:MCRS<\/a>)<\/strong>, a leading supplier of information systems to the hospitality and retail industries, today announced the results for its fiscal 2012 second quarter ended December 31, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Revenue for the quarter was $270.4 million, an increase of $23.3 million, or 9.4%, versus the same period last year.<\/li>\n<li>Revenue for the six-month period was $527.0 million, an increase of $46.4 million, or 9.7% over the same period last year.<\/li>\n<li>GAAP net income for the quarter was $38.3 million, an increase of $6.0 million, or 18.4%, over the same period last year.<\/li>\n<li>GAAP net income for the six-month period was $75.5 million, an increase of $11.6 million, or 18.1%, over the same period last year.<\/li>\n<li>GAAP diluted earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter was $0.47 per share, an increase of $0.08, or 20.5%, over the same period last year.<\/li>\n<li>GAAP diluted EPS for the six-month period was $0.92, an increase of $0.14, or 17.9%, over the same period last year.<\/li>\n<li>Non-GAAP financial results, excluding the effect of charges for stock options, an impairment charge for auction rate securities and a charge for a lawsuit, are as follows:<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Non-GAAP net income for the quarter was $42.1 million, an increase of $5.2 million, or 14.0%, over the year ago period.<\/li>\n<li>Non-GAAP net income for the six-month period was $81.4 million, an increase of $11.1 million, or 15.8%, over the year ago period.<\/li>\n<li>Non-GAAP diluted EPS for the quarter was $0.51, an increase of $0.06, or 13.3%, over the year ago period.<\/li>\n<li>Non-GAAP diluted EPS for the six-month period was $0.99, an increase of $0.14, or 16.5%, over the year ago period.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>MICROS\u2019s revenue, net income and EPS results were Company records for a second fiscal quarter and exceeded consensus expectations.<\/p>\n<p><!--mfunc adshow_display_ad_file_v2(array('ad_random_1.txt'), array(100), array('align' => 'float right', 'clear' => '', 'margin_top' => '', 'margin_bottom' => '', 'padding_top' => '', 'padding_bottom' => ''), array(), array()) --><\/p>\n<div style=\"float:right;margin-left:5px;\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-1408583772585547\";\n\/* SMW - in News 300 *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"5684630733\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p><!--\/mfunc--><\/p>\n<p>Tom Giannopoulos, MICROS\u2019s Chairman and CEO, stated, \u201cWe are extremely pleased with our record results for the quarter and first half of our fiscal year.
