All three major indexes reversed earlier losses to finish the day in green amid hopes that Greece may be close to a rescue deal.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-20414\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/dowjones\/today.aspx\">Dow Jones<\/a> ended the day 0.26% higher at 12,878.20, the <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/sp500\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"snp500 today\">S&amp;P 500<\/a> ended the day 0.20% higher at 1,347.05, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nasdaq\/today.aspx\">Nasdaq<\/a> ended the day 0.07% higher at 2,904.08.<\/p>\n<p><!--mfunc adshow_display_ad_file_v2(array('ad_random_1.txt'), array(100), array('align' => 'float right', 'clear' => '', 'margin_top' => '', 'margin_bottom' => '', 'padding_top' => '', 'padding_bottom' => ''), array(), array()) --><\/p>\n<div style=\"float:right;margin-left:5px;\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-1408583772585547\";\n\/* SMW - in News 300 *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"5684630733\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p><!--\/mfunc--><\/p>\n<p>Utilities were the best performers in the S&amp;P 500 in trading today, ending the day 0.66% higher. Consumer Non-Cyclical and Energy stocks also rose sharply in trading today. Both sectors ended the day 0.48% higher. Technology stocks ended the day 0.22% higher. Financials rose 0.10%. Basic Materials was the only sector in the S&amp;P 500 to end the day in red. The sector ended 0.27% lower.<\/p>\n<p>Among the major gainers in trading today were The Coca-Cola Company (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=KO\">NYSE: KO<\/a>), which ended the day 0.76% higher at $68.55, OpenTable Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=OPEN\">NASDAQ: OPEN<\/a>), which ended the day 2.61% higher at $51.45, Coinstar Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=CSTR\">NASDAQ: CSTR<\/a>), which ended the day 13.79% higher at $57.53, and Harman International Industries Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nyse\/today.aspx\">NYSE<\/a>: HAR), which ended the day 3.86% higher at $46.23.<\/p>\n<p>Among the major losers in trading today were Nevsun Resources (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=NSU\">AMEX: NSU<\/a>), which ended the day 30.60% lower at $4.40, Emerson Electric Co. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=EMR\">NYSE: EMR<\/a>), which ended the day 2.72% lower at $51.92, and Becton, Dickinson and Co. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nyse\/today.aspx\">NYSE<\/a>: BDX), which ended the day 3.75% lower at $77.51.<\/p>\n<p>European markets ended on a mixed note earlier today. The FTSE 100 Index in London closed 0.03% lower at 5,890.26, while the CAC 40 Index in Paris closed 0.18% higher at 3,411.54. The EURO STOXX 50 Index ended 0.25% higher at 2,514.12.
