<\/a>The March of Dimes report card for Premature deaths has once again given America a D.<\/p>\n

<\/span>This comes after a similar rating last year. A \u201cD\u201d rating is what developing or poor countries like Nigeria and Uganda achieve without proper heath care system in palce.<\/p>\n

Premature birth is one of the leading causes of deaths in newborns. More than 500,000 children just in United States die because of this. Major pharmaceutical companies like GlaxoSmithKline <\/strong>(NYSE<\/a>:GSK<\/strong><\/a>) and Covance <\/strong>Inc. (NYSE:CVD<\/strong><\/a>) have been unable to reduce premature deaths even after increasing pressure from the government. From 2006, premature deaths have been increasing slowly at 20%. The best that states could achieve was a C rating and no state received A or B.<\/p>\n
