The single currency slipped after Greece completed a crucial debt swap deal with private creditors.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-22443\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>At last check, <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\">spot gold<\/a> was trading 0.94% lower at $1,683.40 an ounce.<\/p>\n<p><!--mfunc adshow_display_ad_file_v2(array('ad_random_1.txt'), array(100), array('align' => 'float right', 'clear' => '', 'margin_top' => '', 'margin_bottom' => '', 'padding_top' => '', 'padding_bottom' => ''), array(), array()) --><\/p>\n<div style=\"float:right;margin-left:5px;\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-1408583772585547\";\n\/* SMW - in News 300 *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"5684630733\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p><!--\/mfunc--><\/p>\n<p>David Wilson, analyst at Citigroup, told Reuters today that if we still have the problems in the euro area, and therefore a stronger dollar, it is difficult to see what would make <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"gold price today\">gold<\/a> push higher, which seems odd because you want to be buying gold if Europe is still a big risk and the U.S. is not. But that is how gold has been trading, said Wilson.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson further said that the current status quo is that we have seen some buying on the lower numbers, but it is difficult to see rebounding significantly.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/silver-price.aspx\">Silver prices<\/a> are also retreating after two days of gains. At last check, <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/silver-price.aspx\">spot silver<\/a> was trading 1% lower at $33.51 an ounce.
