Basic Materials stocks are leading the losses in the S&amp;P 500 in late trading today. At last check, Basic Materials stocks were trading 1.93% lower. Energy stocks are also sinking in trading today. At last check, Energy stocks were down 1.51%. Consumer Cyclical stocks are currently trading 1.58% lower, while Financials are currently trading 1.23% lower. Technology stocks are down 1.49% in late trading.<\/p>\n<p>Among the major losers in late trading today are Monsanto Company (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=MON\">NYSE: MON<\/a>), which is currently trading 1.31% lower at $80.73, Acuity Brands Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=AYI\">NYSE: AYI<\/a>), which is currently trading 9.66% lower at $57.50, SanDisk Corporation (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=SNDK\">NASDAQ: SNDK<\/a>), which is currently trading 10.64% lower at $44.72, and Thoratec Corporation (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nasdaq\/today.aspx\">NASDAQ<\/a>: THOR), which is currently trading 4.63% lower at $32.76.<\/p>\n<p>Among the major gainers in late trading are SmartHeat Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=HEAT\">NASDAQ: HEAT<\/a>), which is currently trading 60.95% higher at $8.45, DDi Corp. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=DDIC\">NASDAQ: DDIC<\/a>), which is currently trading 5.47% higher at $12.93, and LiveDeal Inc. (NASDAQ: LIVE), which is currently trading 18.15% higher at $4.87.<\/p>\n<p>European markets also fell today, with all major indexes in the region ending sharply lower.
