The precious metal has benefited in the last few days due to expectations of more quantitative easing from the Federal Reserve and renewed worries about the euro zone.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-24557\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>At last check, <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\">spot gold<\/a> was trading 0.1% lower at $1,658.11 an ounce. <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\">Gold<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/commodities\/today.aspx\">futures<\/a> for delivery in June on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange are currently trading 0.07% lower at $1,659.50 an ounce.<\/p>\n<p><!--Ad Injection mfunc mode ad code--><!--mfunc adshow_display_ad_file_v2(array('ad_random_1.txt'), array(100), array('align' => 'float right', 'clear' => '', 'margin_top' => '', 'margin_bottom' => '', 'padding_top' => '', 'padding_bottom' => ''), array(), array()) --><\/p>\n<div style=\"float:right;margin-left:5px;\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-1408583772585547\";\n\/* SMW - in News 300 *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"5684630733\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p><!--\/mfunc--><\/p>\n<p>Suki Cooper, analyst at Barclays Capital, told Reuters that the broader macro environment still remains positive and in the near term, the floor will be set by a combination of how strong investment demand is and how responsive the physical market is. Cooper further said that <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"gold price today\">gold<\/a> has found more support recently, but it doesn\u2019t have all of the catalysts in place to be driven substantially higher yet.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Walter de Wet, analyst at Standard Bank, told Reuters that gold will be in a range of $1,600 an ounce to around $1,690 an ounce or $1,700 an ounce, which is a fairly wide range. But de Wet thinks it will be difficult for gold to break out of that range.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/silver-price.aspx\">Silver prices<\/a> have also edged lower in trading today.
