Basic Materials stocks are leading the gains in the S&amp;P 500 in late trading today. At last check, the sector was trading 2.68% higher. Industrials are currently trading 2.31% higher. Energy stocks are up 1.95% in late trading. Financials are currently trading 1.40% higher, while Technology stocks are currently trading 1.04% higher.<\/p>\n<p>Among the major gainers in late trading today are TOPS Ships Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=TOPS\">NASDAQ: TOPS<\/a>), which is currently trading 18.53% higher at $2.82, Cytec Industries Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=CYT\">NYSE: CYT<\/a>), which is currently trading 11.76% higher at $64.25, China Cord Blood Corp. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=CO\">NYSE: CO<\/a>), which is currently trading 6.67% higher at $2.88, Fusion-IO Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=FIO\">NYSE: FIO<\/a>), which is currently trading 12.61% higher at $27.77, and Rowan Companies Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=RDC\">NYSE: RDC<\/a>), which is currently trading 9.35% higher at $33.90.<\/p>\n<p>Among the major losers in trading currently are Nokia Corporation (ADR) (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nyse\/today.aspx\">NYSE<\/a>: NOK), which is currently trading 4.60% lower at $4.05, and Illumina Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nasdaq\/today.aspx\">NASDAQ<\/a>: ILMN), which is currently trading 5.35% lower at $49.76.<\/p>\n<p>European markets ended mostly higher in trading today.
