Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/silver-price.aspx\">silver prices<\/a> are also gaining in trading today.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-25581\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>If expectations of Fed\u2019s assets buying program turns out to be true then it will provide great boost to <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\">gold<\/a> as dollar would weaken, simultaneously boosting U.S and global equities as well.<\/p>\n<p><!--Ad Injection mfunc mode ad code--><!--mfunc adshow_display_ad_file_v2(array('ad_random_1.txt'), array(100), array('align' => 'float right', 'clear' => '', 'margin_top' => '', 'margin_bottom' => '', 'padding_top' => '', 'padding_bottom' => ''), array(), array()) --><\/p>\n<div style=\"float:right;margin-left:5px;\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-1408583772585547\";\n\/* SMW - in News 300 *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"5684630733\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p><!--\/mfunc--><\/p>\n<p>While <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\">spot gold<\/a> nearly stayed flat at $1,641.81 per ounce by 0248 GMT, having risen as high as $1,648.91 on Tuesday as the Dow and the <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/indices\/sp500\/today\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"snp500 today\">S&amp;P 500<\/a> rebounded after strong earnings and positive outlooks from big manufacturers, U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\">gold<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/commodities\/today.aspx\">futures<\/a> were at $1,642.90 per ounce, losing 0.05 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Since February when bullion hit a record high of $1,790 an ounce, less dovish tone from the fed along with some stings of positive economic data in March put the pressure on the yellow metal.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting over FOMC meeting, Ronald Leung, director of Lee Cheong <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"gold price today\">Gold<\/a> Dealers in Hong Kong, said to Reuters, \u201cI don&#8217;t think they will announce the QE3, but Bernanke&#8217;s speech may offer some hints. We don&#8217;t know, but we can see that other nations have already cut <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/bonds\/today.aspx\">interest rates<\/a>\u201d.\u00a0 Reflecting over <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\">gold prices<\/a> in the short to middle term, Mr. Leung said, \u201cI think $1,650 or $1,655 will be the cap for the time being. We can see the downside at $1,625.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fed\u2019s policy statement is expected to be released at 16:30 GMT followed by a news conference, attended by Ben Bernanke.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, stock markets worldwide traded higher on Wednesday as better than expected corporate earnings, successful debt auctioning in Netherlands and an improving housing data in the U.S. stoked investors risk appetite. Lately, notwithstanding gold\u2019s appeal as a safe investment instrument, the metal has tracked equities, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/energy\/crude-oil\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"12\" title=\"Crude oil\">oil prices<\/a> and other <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/commodities\/today.aspx\">commodities<\/a>, as uncertain environment left investors at loose end.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/silver-price.aspx\">silver<\/a> gained 0.1 percent at $30.80 an ounce, while spot palladium advanced 0.4 percent at $665.83 an ounce.
