Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/silver-price.aspx\">silver prices<\/a> are down sharply in mid-day trading.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-26005\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>At last check, U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\">spot gold<\/a> was losing 0.52 percent, trading at $1,651.70 an ounce, while U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/commodities\/today.aspx\">futures<\/a> for June delivery also edged lower $11.30 an ounce to $1,653.60.<\/p>\n<p><!--Ad Injection mfunc mode ad code--><!--mfunc adshow_display_ad_file_v2(array('ad_random_1.txt'), array(100), array('align' => 'float right', 'clear' => '', 'margin_top' => '', 'margin_bottom' => '', 'padding_top' => '', 'padding_bottom' => ''), array(), array()) --><\/p>\n<div style=\"float:right;margin-left:5px;\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-1408583772585547\";\n\/* SMW - in News 300 *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"5684630733\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p><!--\/mfunc--><\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Friday, weaker than expected GDP growth in the first quarter boosted the yellow metal\u2019s price as <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\">gold<\/a> investor\u2019s anticipated that fed will provide some quantitative easing to pump-up the economy; however, with household income rising in April, QE3 in a near-future remains an indistinct reality.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, for some experts like Bayram Dincer, analyst LGT Capital Management, some degree of monetary easing can be expected.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting over the QE3, Bayram Dincer said to Reuters, \u201cAnalysts have really decreased (their expectations for QE), but I feel if the conditions are right, we can still see some sort of quantitative easing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\">gold<\/a> investors are keeping their eye on French debt sale later on Monday, along with an ECB press conference and rates decision on Thursday, in order to get a clear outlook of the euro zone economy.<\/p>\n<p>Rising ETF Holdings<\/p>\n<p>Concerns over sluggish demand for physical <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"gold price today\">gold<\/a>, especially from world\u2019s biggest importer India have dented the investors\u2019 confidence in the metal.<\/p>\n<p>According to one market watcher \u201cthe speculative fervor\u201d has gone out of gold.
