(<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=CMCSA\">NASDAQ: CMCSA<\/a>) announced its fiscal first quarter earnings on Wednesday which surpassed Wall Street expectations. The Company said that its earnings increased by 30% in the period thanks mainly to advertising in Super Bowl and its popular broadband services.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-26294\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Headquartered in Philadelphia, Comcast reported that its net income soared to $1.224 billion, or 45 cents per share, for the January to March period up from $943 million, or 34 cents per share, a year ago.<\/p>\n<p><!--Ad Injection mfunc mode ad code--><!--mfunc adshow_display_ad_file_v2(array('ad_random_1.txt'), array(100), array('align' => 'float right', 'clear' => '', 'margin_top' => '', 'margin_bottom' => '', 'padding_top' => '', 'padding_bottom' => ''), array(), array()) --><\/p>\n<div style=\"float:right;margin-left:5px;\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-1408583772585547\";\n\/* SMW - in News 300 *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"5684630733\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p><!--\/mfunc--><\/p>\n<p>Analysts polled FactSet Research were estimating earnings of 42 cents a share for the period.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, company\u2019s revenues rose to t $14.9 billion, above analysts\u2019 expectation of $14.4 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Comcast acquisition of a majority stake in NBC Universal- which owns TV channels and movie studios, closed at the end of January last year- proved to be sound strategic decision as it was shown by the results.<\/p>\n<p>Revenues from NBC Universal accounts only one third of the total Comcast revenues but the pace of growth \u00a0in revenues was faster from the former. Revenues from NBC Universal grew 18% from last year.
