Greek voters on Sunday opted for pro-bailout parties, giving global markets some relief. A better than expected homebuilder sentiment report, however, pushed the <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/sp500\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"snp500 today\">S&amp;P 500<\/a> higher. The <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/dowjones\/today.aspx\">Dow Jones<\/a> ended the day 0.20% lower at 12,741.82, the S&amp;P 500 ended the day 0.14% higher at 1,344.78, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nasdaq\/today.aspx\">Nasdaq<\/a> ended the day 0.78% higher at 2,895.33.<\/p>\n<p>Transportation sector led the gains in the S&amp;P 500 in trading today. The sector ended the day 1.40% higher. Basic Materials sector also rose sharply today, ending the day 0.60% higher. Healthcare sector ended the day 0.59% higher. Financials were the worst performer in the S&amp;P 500 today, ending the day 0.62% lower. \u00a0Energy sector ended the day 0.48% lower, while Conglomerates ended the day 0.61% lower.<\/p>\n<p>Among the major gainers and losers in trading today were Facebook Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=FB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NASDAQ: FB<\/a>), which ended the day 4.92% higher at $31.49, Body Central Corp. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=BODY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NASDAQ: BODY<\/a>), which ended the day 48.59% lower at $8.22, InterDigital Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=IDCC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NASDAQ: IDCC<\/a>), which ended the day 27.10% higher at $29.08, Barnes &amp; Noble Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nyse\/today.aspx\">NYSE<\/a>: BKS), which ended the day 2.31% lower at $15.24, and Extorre <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\">Gold<\/a> Mines Ltd. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/amex\/today.aspx\">AMEX<\/a>: XG),which ended the day 56.39% higher at $4.16.<\/p>\n<p>European markets ended on a mixed note earlier today, with the FTSE 100 Index in London closing 0.22% higher, and the CAC 40 Index in Paris closing 0.69% lower.
