Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/silver-price.aspx\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"silver price today\">silver<\/a> prices edged higher on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-30612\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Gold prices slipped as investors digested the minutes of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knowfinance.com\/federal-reserve-system-fed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Reserve<\/a>\u2019s most recent monetary policy meeting. Gold futures for delivery in August on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, meanwhile, settled $10.40 lower at $1,565.30 an ounce.<\/p>\n<p>Gold prices also came under pressure from a stronger U.S. dollar. The greenback rose to a two-year high against the euro on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Even though hopes of further monetary easing have faded, option market activity suggests that investors are expecting the precious metal to recover this month.<\/p>\n<p>Silver prices, meanwhile, edged higher on Thursday. At last check, spot silver was up 0.52% to $27.21 an ounce.<\/p>\n<p>Silver ETFs also rose on Thursday, with the iShares Silver Trust (ETF) (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=SLV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: SLV<\/a>) gaining 0.70%, and the ProShares Ultra Silver (ETF) (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=AGQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: AGQ<\/a>) gaining more than 1%.<\/p>\n<p>The ProShares UltraShort Silver (ETF) (<a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nyse\/today.aspx\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"NYSE Today\">NYSE<\/a>: ZSL), which takes a short position on silver, slipped more than 1.50% on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Platinum and palladium also slipped on Thursday.
