However, the precious metal\u2019s losses were limited due to its safe-haven appeal. <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/silver-price.aspx\">Silver prices<\/a>, meanwhile, fell sharply on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-31136\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Gold prices fell sharply earlier in the day, tracking losses in riskier assets, on worries that Spain, euro zone\u2019s fourth-economy, will ask for a bailout. Gold futures for delivery in August on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, meanwhile, settled $5.40 lower at $1,577.40 an ounce.<\/p>\n<p>Technical analysts expect gold to find support at around $1,559\/$1,560 an ounce.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, physical demand for gold continues to remain weak.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/silver-price.aspx\">Silver prices<\/a> also edged lower on Monday. At last check, spot <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/silver-price.aspx\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"silver price today\">silver<\/a> was down 0.99% to $27.02 an ounce.<\/p>\n<p>In late trading on Monday, the iShares Silver Trust (ETF) (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=SLV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: SLV<\/a>) was down nearly 1%, the ProShares Ultra Silver (ETF) (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=AGQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: AGQ<\/a>) was down nearly 2%, and the ProShares UltraShort Silver (ETF) (<a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nyse\/today.aspx\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"NYSE Today\">NYSE<\/a>: ZSL) was up nearly 2%.<\/p>\n<p>Platinum and palladium also slipped on Monday.
