General William Boykin (retired) told\u00a0<em>TruNews Radio<\/em>\u00a0Tuesday that the U.S. economy of the United States \u201cis just about the break\u201d and collapse.\u00a0\u00a0And when the dam gives way, severe food shortages and pervasive violence throughout America will warrant, in his opinion, an executive declaration of martial law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll be very honest with you; the situation in America could be such that martial law is actually warranted, and that situation in my view could occur if we had an economic collapse,\u201d said Boykin, a former CIA Deputy Director of Special Activities.<\/p>\n<p><!--Ad Injection mfunc mode ad code--><!--mfunc adshow_display_ad_file_v2(array('ad_random_1.txt'), array(100), array('align' => 'float right', 'clear' => '', 'margin_top' => '', 'margin_bottom' => '', 'padding_top' => '', 'padding_bottom' => ''), array(), array()) --><\/p>\n<div style=\"float:right;margin-left:5px;\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-1408583772585547\";\n\/* SMW - in News 300 *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"5684630733\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p><!--\/mfunc--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe dam is just about to break on our economy, and I think when it does, there\u2019s going to be a major disruption of the distribution of food,\u201d he added.\u00a0\u201cAnd I think what you\u2019ll see particularly in the inner cities is you will see riots, civil unrest that ultimately might justify martial law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--Ad Injection mfunc mode ad code--><!--mfunc--><\/p>\n<p><!--\/mfunc--><\/p>\n<p>Though the U.S. is the world\u2019s largest exporter of agriculture, in the case of a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knowfinance.com\/currency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">currency<\/a> collapse, producers will withhold shipments to retailers and consumers unable to pay in a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knowfinance.com\/currency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">currency<\/a> other than U.S. dollars.\u00a0\u00a0For a time, barter will take the place of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knowfinance.com\/currency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">currency<\/a> for those living in rural areas, but for the majority of Americans living in cities and adjacent suburbs, food shortages can emerge within 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think those people that are not in the major cities are going to be far better off, but it could actually justify martial law,\u201d Boykin continued.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cAnd I\u2019m praying that we will not see that kind of collapse, we won\u2019t see a disruption of the distribution of food in America.\u00a0\u00a0That\u2019s probably the single biggest problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Recommendations by \u201cprepper\u201d organizations and a handful of governments (as in the case of Utah and some municipalities) to include storing enough nonperishable food to last a month to 90 days have become commonplace during the four-year-long economic recession, as the history of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knowfinance.com\/currency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">currency<\/a> collapses throughout the world demonstrate that for a meaningful period of time food will not be available at grocery stores, food pantries and other collective emergency food supplies.<\/p>\n<p>Recent examples of food shortages due to rapid currency devaluations include Argentina in 2002; Cuba, following the fall of the Soviet Union in 1989; and in Zimbabwe during its currency collapse of the late 2000s.<\/p>\n<p>Although, the U.S. is not expected to match Zimbabwe in intensity and duration of inflation (89 sextillion percent in 2008), all nations undergo a period of profound dislocation of commerce during a currency devaluation, which may range from as little as several weeks to several months.\u00a0\u00a0At that time, food becomes the king of all <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/commodities\/today.aspx\">commodities<\/a> while government reestablishes a new workable currency to reestablish normal commerce once again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf people can eat, they can survive for some period of time while we get through the economic crisis and reestablish currency, and systems, and all that,\u201d said Boykin.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cBut if they can\u2019t eat, you know, they\u2019re going to fight.\u00a0\u00a0And that\u2019s my big concern.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>From his intelligence, as well as from numerous publicly-available anecdotal testimonies and leaked government documents, the U.S. military has been preparing with local law enforcement for a coming crisis.\u00a0\u00a0Boykin strongly advises the public to make preparations for the most likely scenario of a coming breakdown of the food distribution channels in America during a dollar collapse.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, I have three months of food stored.\u00a0\u00a0I have a bunch of other essentials that I have stored in my home,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cAnd my wife and I are preparing for this.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow a lot of people call us, you know, foolish, for that kind of attitude,\u201d he added.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cBut I would tell you that I\u2019m not going to be unprepared, and I think people should be prepared now for some disruption.\u00a0You know this economic collapse is a very strong possibility.\u00a0\u00a0We need to get ready for it, and we need to be thinking through and developing plans for how we\u2019re going to react to it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--Ad Injection mfunc mode ad include code--><!--mfunc--><br \/>\n<!--\/mfunc--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Need fast service and cheap rates from a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knowfinance.com\/category\/broker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">broker<\/a>? <a href=\"http:\/\/buystockonlinetoday.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Buy stock online<\/a> at my favorite brokerage<\/li>\n<li>See today\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/partners.authorizedclicks.com\/z\/21\/CD2\/subid1=site\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">top stock picks <\/a>and market analysis<\/li>\n<li>Want more?
