(<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=BPO\">NYSE : BPO<\/a>)<\/strong> announced that net income attributable to common shareholders for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 was $217 million or $0.38 per diluted share, compared with $631 million or $1.11 per diluted share in the second quarter of 2011. Furthermore, the environment is presenting us with a number of opportunities in our current and new markets,\u201d stated Dennis Friedrich, chief executive officer of Brookfield Office Properties. \u201cWe remain focused on monetizing our development pipeline and keeping our portfolio well-occupied in the face of stable but slower leasing markets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>BPO &#8211; Highlights of the Second Quarter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Leased 2.6 million square feet of space during the quarter at an average net rent of $28.59 per square foot, representing a 34% increase over expiring net rents in the period.
