{"id":32505,"date":"2012-08-16T13:39:00","date_gmt":"2012-08-16T13:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock-market-news\/perrigo-prgo-reports-record-fourth-quarter\/32505\/"},"modified":"2012-08-16T13:39:00","modified_gmt":"2012-08-16T13:39:00","slug":"perrigo-prgo-reports-record-fourth-quarter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.stockmarketwatch.com\/stock-market-news\/perrigo-prgo-reports-record-fourth-quarter\/32505\/","title":{"rendered":"Perrigo &#8211; PRGO &#8211; Reports Record Fourth Quarter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-1408583772585547\";\n\/* SMW - News Links *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"3490797620\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 468;\ngoogle_ad_height = 15;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><strong>Perrigo Company (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=PRGO\">Nasdaq: PRGO<\/a>)<\/strong> announced results for its fourth quarter and full year ended June 30, 2012.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-year revenue from continuing operations increased $418 million, or 15%, to a record $3.2 billion.<\/li>\n<li>GAAP income from continuing operations for the full year increased 15% to $393 million, or $4.18 per diluted share.<\/li>\n<li>Adjusted income from continuing operations for the full year increased 25% to a record $469 million, or $4.99 per diluted share.<\/li>\n<li>Record full-year cash flow from operations of $513 million.<\/li>\n<li>Fiscal fourth quarter GAAP income from continuing operations increased 25% to $107 million, or $1.14 per diluted share, while adjusted income from continuing operations increased 27% to $121 million, or $1.28 per diluted share, as revenue increased $127 million, or 18%, to $832 million.<\/li>\n<li>Management expects full-year fiscal 2013 adjusted earnings per share to be in a range of $5.30 to $5.50 per diluted share, an increase of 6% to 10% from fiscal 2012\u2019s $4.99 per diluted share.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PRGO &#8211; Fourth Quarter Results<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Net sales for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2012 were approximately $832 million, an increase of 18% compared to last year. Excluding the charges outlined in Table I at the end of this release, fourth quarter fiscal 2012 adjusted income from continuing operations was $121 million, or $1.28 per diluted share, up from $95 million, or $1.02 per diluted share, a year ago.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRGO &#8211; Fiscal Year Results<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Net sales from fiscal 2012 were $3.2 billion, an increase of 15% over fiscal 2011. The increase was driven primarily by $245 million of net sales attributable to the Paddock Labs and CanAm Care acquisitions and new product sales of $211 million, which excludes $6 million of new products launched by Paddock Labs. Reported gross profit was $1.1 billion, up 16%, and reported gross margin was 34.5%, slightly up from 34.3% last year. Adjusted gross profit was $1.2 billion, up 21%, and adjusted gross margin was 37.1%, up from 35.4% last year. The gross margin improvement was driven primarily by new products and the acquisition of Paddock Labs. Reported operating margin increased 10 basis points to 17.9%, and adjusted operating margin increased 200 basis points to 21.6%. Reported income from continuing operations was $393 million, an increase of 15%.
