The recent rally has pushed the precious metal near a six-month high. Gold has been gaining on hopes of another round of quantitative easing from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knowfinance.com\/federal-reserve-system-fed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Reserve<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Fed will begin its two-day monetary policy meeting later this week. Following the weaker than expected nonfarm payrolls data released last Friday, investors are hoping that the Fed will implement further monetary easing measures at this week\u2019s meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Spot gold fell 0.4% to $1,728.97 an ounce on Monday. Last week, spot gold prices gained 2.7%.<\/p>\n<p>Gold futures for delivery in December on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange fell $8.70 to settle at $1,731.80 an ounce on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Silver prices also slipped on Monday. At last check, spot silver was down 0.3% to $33.56 an ounce.<\/p>\n<p>In late trading on Monday, the iShares Silver Trust (ETF) (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=SLV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: SLV<\/a>) was down 1.10%, the ProShares Ultra Silver (ETF) (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=AGQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: AGQ<\/a>) was down 2.16%, and the ProShares UltraShort Silver (ETF) (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=ZSL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: ZSL<\/a>) was up 2.38% higher.<\/p>\n<p>Platinum and palladium rose sharply on Monday.
