The stores are located in Iowa, Missouri and North Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur company is committed to carefully-planned, strategic growth \u2013 that\u2019s evidenced by the fact that we\u2019ll open 40 new stores this year alone,\u201d said Kyle J. Krause, Kum &amp; Go president and CEO. \u201cIt\u2019s our continued desire to consolidate and strengthen our asset base and offer a consistent brand to our customers in Kum &amp; Go\u2019s core markets. The sale of these properties, in addition to our new store growth, brings us one step closer to carrying out that strategy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese stores are an excellent fit to our existing store base and will allow us an opportunity to operate in a new state,\u201d said Robert J. Myers, President and CEO of Casey\u2019s. \u201cWe expect this acquisition to be accretive in the first year of operation and enhance future earnings as we integrate our prepared food operations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Casey\u2019s General Stores &#8211; CASY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Casey\u2019s General Stores, Inc. (CASY) and its wholly owned subsidiaries (Casey\u2019s), operate convenience stores under the name Casey&#8217;s General Store in 11 Midwestern states, primarily Iowa, Missouri, and Illinois. The stores carry a range of food (including freshly prepared foods such as pizza, donuts, and sandwiches), beverages, tobacco products, health and beauty aids, automotive products, and other nonfood items. In addition, all CASY&#8217;s stores offer gasoline for sale on a self-service basis. On April 30, 2012, there were a total of 1,699 stores in operation. There were 30 stores newly constructed, 35 acquired stores opened, and three stores were closed, during the fiscal year ended April 30, 2012 (fiscal 2012). The Company operates a central warehouse, Casey&#8217;s Distribution Center in Ankeny, Iowa, through which the Company supplies grocery and general merchandise items to its stores.
