The <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/dowjones\/today.aspx\">Dow Jones<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/sp500\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"snp500 today\">S&amp;P 500<\/a> closed at fresh all-time highs as investors continued to pour money into equity markets.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-44275\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/dowjones\/today.aspx\">Dow Jones<\/a> ended the day 0.32% higher at 15,105.12, the S&amp;P 500 ended the day 0.41% higher at 1,632.69, and the Nasdaq ended the day 0.49% higher at 3,413.27.<\/p>\n<p>Basic Materials sector led the gains in the S&amp;P 500 on Wednesday, ending the day 1.65% higher. Consumer Cyclical sector also rose sharply, ending the day 1.22% higher. Financials ended the day 0.83% higher. Utilities and Consumer Non-Cyclical were the only sectors in the S&amp;P 500 to finish the day in red. Utilities ended the day 0.31% lower, and Consumer Non-Cyclical sector ended the day 0.11% lower.<\/p>\n<p>Among the major movers on Wednesday were Whole Foods Market Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=WFM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NASDAQ: WFM<\/a>), which ended the day 10.12% higher at $102.19, Groupon Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=GRPN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NASDAQ: GRPN<\/a>), which ended the day 3.71% higher at $5.59, The Walt Disney Company (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=DIS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: DIS<\/a>), which ended the day 0.12% lower at $65.99, J.C. Penney Company Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=JCP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: JCP<\/a>), which ended the day 7.38% higher at $17.61, and AOL Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=AOL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: AOL<\/a>), which ended the day 8.88% lower at $37.74.<\/p>\n<p>European markets ended mostly higher on Wednesday, with the FTSE 100 Index in London closing 0.40% higher, and the CAC 40 Index in Paris closing 0.89% higher.
