{"id":45045,"date":"2013-06-07T11:53:00","date_gmt":"2013-06-07T11:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock-market-news\/stocks-rally-across-the-board\/45040\/"},"modified":"2024-08-25T18:10:22","modified_gmt":"2024-08-25T18:10:22","slug":"stocks-rally-across-the-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.stockmarketwatch.com\/stock-market-news\/stocks-rally-across-the-board\/45045\/","title":{"rendered":"Stocks Rally Across-The-Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-1408583772585547\";\n\/* SMW - News Links *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"3490797620\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 468;\ngoogle_ad_height = 15;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>U.S. stocks rallied more than 1% across-the-board by mid-day trade on Friday as chances that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knowfinance.com\/federal-reserve-system-fed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Reserve<\/a> could continue with its multi-billion asset purchase program, increased significantly, following the release of decent but not so strong enough nonfarm payrolls data.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-45045\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>At last check, the DJIA jumped 1.21%; the <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nasdaq\/today.aspx\">NASDAQ<\/a> Composite Index gained 0.98% while the <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/sp500\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"snp500 today\">S&amp;P 500<\/a> Index climbed 1.07%.<\/p>\n<p>Among all key S&amp;P sectors, both health care and consumer staple stocks gained the most.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, the Labor Department\u2019s nonfarm payrolls data for May showed that 175,000 jobs were added in the economy against economists\u2019 forecast for 160,000 gains. Market strategists believe that the job data is not strong enough to convince the Fed to pullback its economic stimulating measures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday&#8217;s employment report doesn&#8217;t really convey the definite economic strength that the Fed is looking for,\u201d said Pat Ahn, a MBS trader at TCW Group, according to the Wall Street Journal.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the unemployment rate rose to 7.6% in May from 7.5% in the previous month.<\/p>\n<p>Shares of Thor Industries Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=THO\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: THO<\/a>) rallied on Friday. The recreational vehicle maker, late last evening said that fiscal third quarter earnings 6%, boosted by higher revenue. Even though earnings missed Wall Street estimate, revenue was in-line with expectation.<\/p>\n<p>Shares of Cooper Companies Inc.
