The <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/dowjones\/today.aspx\">Dow Jones<\/a> ended the day 0.91% higher at 15,318.23, the <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/sp500\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"snp500 today\">S&amp;P 500<\/a> ended the day 0.78% higher at 1,651.81, and the Nasdaq ended the day 0.87% higher at 3,482.18.<\/p>\n<p>Industrials led the gains in the S&amp;P 500 on Tuesday, ending the day 1.06% higher. Consumer Cyclical sector also rose sharply, ending the day 0.95% higher. Consumer Non-Cyclical was the only sector in the S&amp;P 500 to end the day in red. The sector finished 0.02% lower.<\/p>\n<p>Among the major movers on Tuesday included Universal Display Corporation (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=PANL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NASDAQ: PANL<\/a>), which ended the day 6.26% higher at $28.87, FLIR Systems Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=FLIR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NASDAQ: FLIR<\/a>), which ended the day 6.15% higher at $26.49, and La-Z-Boy Incorporated (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=LZB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: LZB<\/a>), which ended the day 6.40% higher at $20.28.<\/p>\n<p>On the economic front, a report released by the Labor Department showed that consumer prices rose 0.1% in the month of May. Meanwhile, a report from the Commerce Department showed that housing starts rose 6.8% in May to 914,000 annualized rate.<\/p>\n<p>European markets ended on a mixed note on Tuesday, with the FTSE 100 Index in London closing 0.69% higher, and the CAC 40 Index in Paris closing 0.08% lower.
