{"id":46284,"date":"2013-07-30T09:06:00","date_gmt":"2013-07-30T09:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock-market-news\/forex-market-update-dollar-gains-ahead-of-the-fomc-as-investors-expects-squeeze-on-quantitative-easing-soon\/46278\/"},"modified":"2013-07-30T09:06:00","modified_gmt":"2013-07-30T09:06:00","slug":"forex-market-update-dollar-gains-ahead-of-the-fomc-as-investors-expects-squeeze-on-quantitative-easing-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.stockmarketwatch.com\/stock-market-news\/forex-market-update-dollar-gains-ahead-of-the-fomc-as-investors-expects-squeeze-on-quantitative-easing-soon\/46284\/","title":{"rendered":"Forex Market Update: Dollar Gains Ahead of the FOMC as Investors Expects Squeeze on Quantitative Easing Soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-1408583772585547\";\n\/* SMW - News Links *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"3490797620\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 468;\ngoogle_ad_height = 15;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>The U.S. dollar index edged up on Tuesday as market participants expect the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knowfinance.com\/federal-reserve-system-fed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Reserve<\/a> to offer some hint over when exactly it could start winding down its bond purchase program.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-46284\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.knowfinance.com\/federal-reserve-system-fed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Reserve<\/a>\u2019s two-day open market committee meeting (FOMC) will begin from Tuesday and expectations are high that the bank would provide dovish forward looking guidance (low interest rates).<\/p>\n<p>However, investors will be closely watching the Fed\u2019s Chairman, Ben Bernanke\u2019s press briefing on Wednesday, hoping to get some clear hint over when exactly the bank intends to start scaling down its multi-billion dollar bond purchase program.<\/p>\n<p>The dollar has been under pressure in the recent pas after Bernanke during his latest congressional testimony said that accommodating monetary policy was warranted at this point of time.
