The Fed\u2019s ongoing bond purchase program is explicitly tied to an improvement in the labor market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will get fresh QE tapering indications in the next Fed meeting in September. The tapering is likely going to start taking effect then and gold will fall again,\u201d said Mark Keenan, cross-commodity research strategist at Societe Generale in Singapore, according to Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, the metal also received some support from short coverings. The metal breached several key resistance levels in the previous session.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0 data provided by Reuters showed that the holdings of the SPDR Gold Trust (ETF) (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=GLD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: GLD<\/a>), the world\u2019s largest gold-backed ETF, fell on Thursday after posting gains on Wednesday.
