For the week, the <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/dowjones\/today.aspx\">Dow Jones<\/a> fell 0.47%, the S&amp;P 500 rose 0.46%, and the Nasdaq rose 1.53%.<\/p>\n<p>All sectors in the S&amp;P 500 ended higher on Friday. Energy sector led the gains, ending the day 0.94% higher. Basic Materials sector also rose sharply, ending the day 0.82% higher. Consumer Non-Cyclical sector ended the day 0.84% higher.<\/p>\n<p>Among the major movers on Friday included Microsoft Corporation (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=MSFT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NASDAQ: MSFT<\/a>), which ended the day 7.35% higher at $34.77, Pandora Media Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=P\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: P<\/a>), which ended the day 12.90% lower at $18.91, CYS Investments Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=CYS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: CYS<\/a>), which ended the day 9.70% higher at $7.58, Hibbett Sports Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=HIBB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NASDAQ: HIBB<\/a>), which ended the day 8.67% lower at $53.40, and Autodesk Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=ADSK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NASDAQ: ADSK<\/a>), which ended the day 7.69% higher at $38.91.<\/p>\n<p>On the economic front, a report showed that new home sales slumped 13.4% to a 394,000 annual rate in July, the lowest level in nine months.<\/p>\n<p>European markets ended mostly higher on Friday, with the FTSE 100 Index in London closing 0.70% higher, and the CAC 40 Index in Paris closing 0.25% higher.
