Short coverings are also driving up the metal\u2019s prices. <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/silver-price.aspx\">Silver prices<\/a> have also edged higher in early trading on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-46899\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>At last check, gold futures for December delivery added 0.21% to $1,423.20 an ounce while spot gold gained 0.52% to $1,423.39 an ounce.<\/p>\n<p>According to Reuters, quoting sources familiar with the matter, western envoys have spoken with opposition parties from Syria and told them that a military strike against President Bashar-al-Assad\u2019s government was imminent. Last week, thousands of people who were opposing Assad\u2019s regime were killed ruthlessly in Damascus.
