{"id":47448,"date":"2013-09-25T08:20:00","date_gmt":"2013-09-25T08:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock-market-news\/gold-prices-up-but-physical-side-demand-weak-silver-prices-gain-as-well\/47385\/"},"modified":"2013-09-25T08:20:00","modified_gmt":"2013-09-25T08:20:00","slug":"gold-prices-up-but-physical-side-demand-weak-silver-prices-gain-as-well","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.stockmarketwatch.com\/stock-market-news\/gold-prices-up-but-physical-side-demand-weak-silver-prices-gain-as-well\/47448\/","title":{"rendered":"Gold Prices Up But Physical Side Demand Weak, Silver Prices Gain As Well"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-1408583772585547\";\n\/* SMW - News Links *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"3490797620\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 468;\ngoogle_ad_height = 15;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/gold-price.aspx\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"gold price today\">Gold<\/a> futures edged higher during Asian trading hours on Wednesday but gains are expected to be capped as recent wild fluctuations in prices and lack of clarity over the <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/silver-price.aspx\">Silver prices<\/a> also edged higher in early trading on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-47448\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>At last check, gold futures for December delivery gained 0.47% to $1,322.50 an ounce while spot gold slipped 0.11% to $1,321.09 an ounce.<\/p>\n<p>SPDR Gold Trust (ETF) (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=GLD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: GLD<\/a>) slipped 0.12% in <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/pre-market\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Premarket Movers\">premarket<\/a> trading to $127.52.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/metal\/silver-price.aspx\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"silver price today\">Silver<\/a> futures edged up 0.50% to $21.70 an ounce.<\/p>\n<p>Gold prices, which are down about 20% year-to-date, have swung wildly in either direction lately as policymakers differed in their views concerning the bond purchase program. St. Louis Fed President; James Bullard said that the policymakers in the recent open market committee meeting (FOMC) were divided over whether the bank should start tapering of the quantitative easing from September.
