With the deadline to raise the borrowing limit just two days away, the possibility of a deal now looks unlikely.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-47905\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/dowjones\/today.aspx\">Dow Jones<\/a> ended the day 0.87% lower at 15,168.01, the <a href=\"https:\/\/stockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/sp500\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"snp500 today\">S&amp;P 500<\/a> ended the day 0.71% lower at 1,698.06, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/markets\/nasdaq\/today.aspx\">Nasdaq<\/a> ended the day 0.56% lower at 3,794.01.<\/p>\n<p>All sectors in the S&amp;P 500 except Basic Materials ended the day in red. The losses were led by Utilities, which ended the day 1.17% lower. Industrials ended the day 0.86% lower. Healthcare sector ended the day 0.78% lower. Financials finished 0.67% lower. Basic Materials sector ended the day 0.03% higher.<\/p>\n<p>Among the major movers on Tuesday included Teradata Corporation (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=TDC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: TDC<\/a>), which ended the day 18.39% lower at $42.91, Molycorp Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=MCP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: MCP<\/a>), which ended the day 21.41% lower at $5.58, Caesars Entertainment Corp. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=CZR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NASDAQ: CZR<\/a>), which ended the day 11.08% lower at $19.91, Opko Health Inc. (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=OPK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: OPK<\/a>), which ended the day 12.56% higher at $12.28, and FedEx Corporation (<a href=\"https:\/\/thestockmarketwatch.com\/stock.aspx?stock=FDX\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: FDX<\/a>), which ended the day 4.08% higher at $120.08.<\/p>\n<p>European markets ended mostly higher on Tuesday, with the FTSE 100 Index in London closing 0.64% higher, and the CAC 40 Index in Paris closing 0.78% higher.
