[DowJonesToday]Dow Jones Navigates Mixed Sentiment as Cisco and Boeing Lead Gains

The Dow Futures (YM=F) was down 23.00 (-0.0463%) points today, signaling a period of consolidation for the blue-chip index on Monday, May 11, 2026. The primary narrative driving the session is a distinct divergence between infrastructure-heavy technology and consumer-facing sectors. Investors are currently weighing robust industrial demand against cooling enterprise software growth, creating a bifurcated trading environment where cyclical stocks are outperforming high-growth tech names.

Leading the market higher, Cisco (CSCO) was up 4.97% to $96.57, buoyed by significant upgrades in global networking infrastructure spending. Boeing (BA) also saw substantial momentum, gaining 3.17% to $237.36 following positive delivery projections. In the healthcare space, UnitedHealth Group (UNH) was up 2.60% to $379.98, while Apple (AAPL) and Nvidia (NVDA) provided additional support, rising 2.23% to $293.32 and 1.66% to $215.20, respectively. Financial giant Goldman Sachs (GS) also contributed to the upside, gaining 1.15% to reach $936.48, alongside Honeywell (HON), which rose 1.12% to $213.12.

On the downside, Salesforce (CRM) was the sharpest decliner, down 2.70% to $181.82, as concerns over decelerating AI-driven software revenue weighed on the sector. The consumer discretionary segment also faced headwinds, with McDonald's (MCD) falling 2.54% to $275.75 and Home Depot (HD) down 1.45% to $317.45. Microsoft (MSFT) also trended lower, down 1.35% to $415.12, as the market recalibrated expectations for big-tech earnings. Other laggards included JPMorgan Chase (JPM), which was down 1.34% to $302.10, and Sherwin-Williams (SHW), falling 1.06% to $316.82, while Merck (MRK) was down 0.85% to $111.38 as the broader pharmaceutical sector saw profit taking.
